Tony Blomert 3rd dan (Center) is the dojo cho and head instructor at MWA – Livingston. He has decades of experience training in the martial arts. He is a well-known training authority having been the publisher of “The Aikidoka’s World” blog from 2010 – 2013 and An Open Secret – A Student’s Handbook for Learning Aikido Techniques of Self-Defense and the Aiki Way in 2014. The later having been on Amazon “Best Seller” list.
He began instructing in 1975 while a student of Shinshin Toitsu Aikido (known as Ki Aikido). He has also studied Judo and Daitoryu JuJitsu which are among the historical foundations of Aikido. He provided instruction throughout the 70’s at Los Angeles Valley College and University of California Los Angeles. In the late 1980’s – 2010’s he trained with various groups in Southern Nevada (Las Vegas), becoming a senior student at Shidokan dojo (a ASU affiliate) for over 10 years. He moved to Bozeman Montana in 2012 and studied under Greg Olson 6th dan at Big Sky Aikido until sensei’s retirement in 2015.
Sherri Renck 2nd dan (Left) serves as MWA’s technical instructor with over 20+ years experience. She began her aikido training as a high school senior at the Goleta Cultural School (Ki Society) located in the Central Coast of California. She is a Montana State University Bozeman graduate and trained for over a decade with Greg Olson 6th dan at Big Sky Aikido. Her experience spans instructing the MSU programs, working with youth and general aikido training sessions.
Galaxy Sheldon 1st dan (Right) is MWA’s Youth Program instructor. She began her training at MWA as a teenager and has helped run the “kids classes and summer camps” for the past 5 years.
Come to any MWA general class which are lead by these instructors and also supported by several “sempai” (senior students) Yudansha. Training follows the guidelines of our Aikido School of Usehiba (ASU) curriculum as well as the current areas of interest of these outstanding aikido instructors.
