John Messores 7th dan will be conducting a 3-day seminar July 26 – 28, 2019. This is a unique opportunity to learn from one of the most experienced U.S. martial arts instructors. Messores sensei is a life-long disciple of Mitsugi Saotome Shihan. He was among the original students who invited Saotome to the United States in 1975. Messores, an accomplished swordsman, has been prominently featured in Mitsugi Saotome’s books including the live blade katana beachfront scenes published in “Aikido and the Harmony of Nature” © 1986.
He is the founder of the Jionjuku Aikido Academy located in Tampa/Saint Petersburg, FL and served as the first ASU president from 2015 – 2017. He continues to serve on the ASU board; as well as extensively traveling within the US and abroad to foster aikido teachings. Unlike large scale seminars, this event is designed to allow participants to experience personalized “hands on” training. There is a limit of 25 participants and nearly 15 hours of intensive training. This small group training event provides plenty of fellowship and one-on-one interaction among participants. Sensei will tailor training topics and instruction to those present. Enrollment is open to all aikidoka regardless of rank or school affiliation. MWA events are unique and unequaled by other seminars.
