Spring Gasshuku

James Sterling (4th dan) will return as our guest instructor for the Spring Gasshuku (2021).  He brings marital arts experience spanning 30 years and his “sold out” 2018 & 2019 workshops received 5 Star ratings.

Due to the Montana State COVID-19 guidelines and our Livingston facilities space limitation, all sessions will be capped at 25 individuals.

A true warrior spirit and skill set best describes Sterling’s approach to Aikido. His recent ASU Camp classes and special workshops have received rave reviews. Here’s an excerpt of Josh Gold’s editor of the Aikido Journal comments about Sterling Sensei “Any skeptics who believe the art of aikido is incapable of forging an authentic warrior should meet Sterling Sensei. He’s got a huge heart, solid technique, the spirit of a leader, not to mention that he’s tough as nails.”  (see the complete article) Aikido Journal

This event is hosted by the MWA Livingston dojo.   Special training workshops or “gasshuku” are events that bring students together to focus on a specific topic or experience a guest instructor‘s approach to aikido. Since our first event in 2016, MWA has held these types of sessions to foster more intensive training opportunities for our students.  Participation is limited to a maximum number of students per session due to space and safety concerns. Students and the instructor experience a more personal interaction using this format.
